The walk on the edge of the sun

What if Icarus, upon reaching the sun, discovered an unimaginable truth—not only about the nature of the sun itself, which turned out to be cold and angular, but above all about the nature of his own imaginings? It was they that caused him to burn long before reaching his destination. What happens when we cross […]

Good is the enemy of better

Good is the enemy of better In this exhibition, I present a new body of work made primarily from steel. It is a material I grew up with. My father ran a company producing steel machinery and structures, and the industrial district of Jasło, centered around Towarowa Street, remains one of the defining landscapes of […]

„Structure of reality” Process

„Structure of Reality” is more a process than a finished work, resulting from the premonitions and intuitions I gathered while creating material on this subject. It’s a separate project I revisit several times a year, observing what changes within it, how it interacts with me, whether new contents emerge, or contexts are built upon. Writing […]

MOLOCH View of the exhibition

Moloch is another environment entirely designed and created by myself. I have been designing and producing fair stands booths for years. I traveled to the world’s largest trade shows and consumption festivals, observing how much money and natural resources were being wasted. The Moloch installation was my response, allowing me to mock the world of […]

„All my hairy thoughts” view of the exhibition

Piotr Kolanko explores the phenomenon of the painterly trace, perceiving it as a kind of sign that does not have to be a readable symbol. Unlike the creators at the beginning of the 20th century, Kolanko does not appropriate the heritage of distant non-European cultures. His field of archaeological search is different, a specific archive – it is an attempt to capture states of his own unconsciousness, to which the only possible insight is given by dream analysis, experimentation, or introspection. Already biographically experienced with the inevitability of death, the artist nurtures élan vital, collecting transgressive events and experiences.
